ABC NEWS – Indonesian state-owned mining company PT Antam Tbk has appointed Achmad Ardianto as its new President Director, replacing Nicolas D. Kanter in a major leadership reshuffle ratified during its Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGMS) on Tuesday, June 12, 2025.
Kanter, who had led the nickel and gold producer since December 2021, was formally removed from his post as part of sweeping changes affecting both the board of directors and commissioners. Ardianto, previously the Director of Human Resources, now takes the helm amid Antam’s efforts to recalibrate its strategic direction under the oversight of the state mining holding firm MIND ID (PT Mineral Industri Indonesia).
In addition to the CEO transition, Antam introduced a new executive role—Director of Commercial—filled by Handi Sutanto, and reshuffled its board of commissioners. Only Rauf Purnama remains as President Commissioner and Independent Commissioner. Six new commissioners have been appointed: Ridwan, Pius Lustrilanang, Irwandi Arif, Elen Setiadi, Rudy Sufahriadi, and M. Rudy Salahuddin Ramdo.
The company retained several directors from the previous structure, including I Dewa Wirantaya (Business Development), Hartono (Operations and Production), and Arianto Sabtonugroho Rudjito (Finance and Risk Management). Ratih Amri replaces Ardianto as the new Director of Human Resources.
PT Antam Tbk, officially known as PT Aneka Tambang Tbk, is a major player in Indonesia’s extractive industries, with a focus on nickel, gold, and bauxite. It operates under the purview of MIND ID, which consolidates the government’s strategic mining assets.
The leadership shake-up reflects broader governance reforms across state-owned enterprises (SOEs).
